- By FERGUS DENNEHY

THE training has (hopefully) well and truly begun at the CBS The Green in Tralee as preparations get underway for the school’s annual 5k/3k timed fun run, which is set to take place on Sunday, October 1 at 1pm.

Now into its third year, last years run was a hugely popular event last year, organisers will be hoping for a similar turnout again this year - with both 5k and 3k routes offering fast and suitable options for runners of all ages.

There will be prizes on the day for the winners of both races, with medals for all participants while bouncy castles, music, a mass warm up, face painting and plenty post-race refreshments will all help to make this a family fun day for all to enjoy.

Registration is available from the school and also on the day of the run with the cost for adults set to be €10 for adults and €5 for students and children.

More information on the run can be found by contacting the school on 066 7145824 or by following updates on Facebook. A NORTH Kerry farmer has made a settlement of over €34,000 with the taxman according to the latest Revenue Tax Defaulters list.

James Relihan, a farmer with an address at Knockeragh, Listowel, paid Revenue a total of €34,703 arising from a Revenue Audit that found he had under declared €21,848 in Capital Gains Tax.

The Revenue list – covering settlements made between April 1 and June 30 2017 – also included outstanding interest of €6,300 and penalties amounting to just over €6,500.

Mr Relihan was the only Kerry person named on the list of 58 people and companies who made settlements worth a total of over €11million.
