WB Yeats said: “education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire” which is a perfect description when one considers the best results from any educational journey come to fruition long after the voyage is complete. Education is for life and so are its rewards.
Tarbert Education Support Centre is one such place where the concept of learning is uppermost. Based in Tarbert Comprehensive School, Tarbert ESC is a wonderful venue for learning and self-development and is a fantastic north Kerry resource.
As a part-time education support centre, Tarbert ESC aims to facilitate, support and empower teachers to achieve their full potential and respond to their changing needs. Its core aim is also to assist other partners in the local school community in meeting their training needs, while Tarbert ESC also hold spring, summer and autumn courses for teachers.
Tarbert ESC endeavours to continue to promote amongst local teachers and the wider education community the long-held rich, local, literary, cultural, artistic, historical and traditions of the area. The Centre also works collaboratively with other Education Partners and local Education Centres for the benefit of everyone in the local community.
