Our boys returned for the second half inspired with Mark O’Connor having switched to midfield being a revelation as he curtailed the danger man for Austin Stacks who didn’t score in the second half. James Kenny was unerring from free kicks with Luke o’ Connell, Eoin Creedon and Diarmaid Galvin shutting up shop on the half back line. We outscored Stacks 2- 08 to 1-00 in the second half with the final score being Ballymac 2-18 to Austin Stacks 4-05. Jamie Sugrue has to get a special mention for a job well done at full back. Captain Liam o’ Connor accepted the Town League Trophy on behalf of the Team. Thanks to all parents and supporters who travelled on the night. U-13: Our U13 panel travelled to Ardfert last Sunday evening for a game in the Town League. On a difficult evening for football Ardfert were victorious on the evening on a score line of Ardfert 4-7 to Ballymac’s 1-6. The next game is against Kerins O’Rahillys in Ballymac tonight (Wednesday). FAOI 10

Our U10 panel travelled to Killorglan last Sunday morning for challenge games with Laune Rangers. We had enjoyable games on the morning and many thanks to Laune Rangers for hosting us. The John Mitchel’s Blitz takes place on Saturday the 23rd of September. Details of the event will be sent on by the co-ordinator. The next academy will take place next Sunday the 17th of September.

Adrian O’Connor, Dara Mc’ Mahon, Harvey Leen, Ryan Burke, and Jackson Brosnan were amongst those who showed well for Ballymac on the day. The next academy will take place next Sunday the 17th of September. We will be competing in the John Mitchel’s Blitz takes place on Saturday the 23rd of September. U-6: U6 Academy Boys & Girls had another big turn out on Sunday and everyone had lots of fun learning their skills. Academy continues next Sunday the 17th of September on the main pitch so come along and bring your water and gum shield. OPEN CLUB MEETING: An Open club meeting took place last Wednesday night at the Ballymac Club grounds. There was a very good attendance. The Club officers present brought the attendance up to date on all the club teams and their progress during the year. The meeting wished club player Brian Lonergan and the Kerry Minor Team every success in The Minor All Ireland on the 17th September. Our Senior team have two important games coming up: Saturday 16th September at 5.30pm Ballymac V John Mitchel’s in The Tralee Board Championsh­ip semi final . This game is at home and on Sunday 24th September we host Na Gaeil in the final game in Division 3 of The County League. This is effectivel­y the game that will see the winner go up to Division 2 as champions. All support for our senior team on both days is very much appreciate­d.

Best Wishes to Brian Lonergan, our Kerry Minor panellist, in the All Ireland Final and to David Clifford, team captain, whose mother Ellen comes from Ballymac. Congratula­tions to Thomas O’Connor who with the Kerry u21 B Hurling Team defeated Wicklow in the U 21 All Ireland on Saturday. Thomas has always shown great talent on the pitch and we at Ballymac would like to wish him the very best in his career. Golf Classic: Ballymac will host the 2017 Golf Classic in Beaufort Golf Club on Saturday 7th of October , the cost of entry Euro 160 per team. Prize giving in the Blasket Bar on the night at 9pm. Sympathies also to Neilus O’Connor and family on the death of his uncle. LOTTO draw took place on 5th September in Maurice Fitzgerald’s bar. Numbers drawn were 1, 5, 19, 25. No Jackpot winner. Lucky Dips for €30 each to Ross Spillane, Kate O’Flaherty, Peanut O’Connor, Siá Flynn. Next draw will be held at Green Room bar on September 19th for a Jackpot of €10,300. Castlegreg­ory qualified for the County Junior Club Final with a one point defeat over Tousist, played at Legion pitch this afternoon. This was a tense and hard-fought encounter from the off. Tousist, had the better of the opening exchanges, forcing their opponents to concede a penalty within the first minute which was duly converted by Liam O’Shea. Peter O’Shea added a point ten minutes later. Castlegreg­ory failed to register a score until the 18th minute when Brandon Hoare pointed from play. Maurice Slattery (2) and and Liam Maunsell added points to edge their side ahead. Points by Liam O’Shea (2) and Thomas Harrington for Tousist restored their lead. Castlegreg­ory lost Alan Fitzgerald to injury on the stroke of half-time but not before he had added a point to leave the half-time score Tousist 1-4 Castlegreg­ory 0-6. Castlegreg­ory began to dominate proceeding­s on the resumption. A pointed free from Anto Kelliher drew the sides level. Castlegreg­ory were then awarded a penalty which was driven against the upright and went wide. Timmy Moriarty pointed from play and Colm Brosnan replied to leave the sides level. Jimmy O’Grady then took on the Tousist defence and broke through for a crucial goal. Anto Kelliher added a point to increase the lead.
