-

look forward to a season with once again, the main contenders being the reigning Champions Templeogue and, the current National Cup holders Swords Thunder.

Killester are also being talked about as a team who will be challenging at the top end of the table, and of course one cannot ever rule out Demons, given their record down the decades in the top flight. Their game with Warriors this weekend will, maybe, provide an indicator as to the prospects of the respective sides for the forthcoming season.

KEANE’S SuperValu Killorglin are back in action the weekend after next when they host Fr Mathews from Cork in the KCYMS in Killorglin.

Following on from a very successful 2016/17 season when the club carried Killorglin’s first National Basketball trophy across the Laune bridge, the KCYMS Hall has become something of a fortress with visiting teams struggling to get a result.

Ignas Sijanas was recently announced as head coach. Ignas has been working intensely with the squad during pre-season training and he is very excited for the upcoming season from what he has seen in training already.

The club is also thrilled that award winning American player Kevin Gray has agreed to return to the club again for a third season.

There have also been a number of changes to the squad with regard to the Irish players, with a number of the Billy Kelly winning team promoted to the National League squad for the first time.

The team is having its formal launch for the season ahead tonight (Wednesday) in Killorglin Sports Complex at 7.45pm.
