NORTH KERRY MINOR LEAGUE SHIELD FINAL. Ballylongf­ord/Asdee 3-5 Ballydonog­hue 3-11 Played in O’Rahilly Park on Sunday morning both sides played out an exciting game of football with Eoin O’Connor and Jack Kennelly getting the bulk of their sides scores in a free flowing game. Jack Kennelly got Ballydonog­hue off to a flying start with two quick points in the first couple of minutes while Eoin O’Connor struck for a well taken goal in the 5th minute to put Bally/Asdee a point ahead.Shea Doran followed up with a neat point to extend their lead. Ballydonog­hue began to get on top and Jack Behan and Kennelly had the sides level by the end of the first quarter and they could have been further ahead but for some fine saves from Ciaran Griffin in the Bally/Asdee goals. The pressure finally paid off when Jack Kennelly finished brilliantl­y to the net after a good move with goal number two coming three minutes later when a shot from Tadhg O’Carroll was saved by Ciaran Griffin but Brendan O’Neill was on hand to put the rebound in the net. Eoin O’Connor replied with a point for Bally/ Asdee before he got his sides second goal when his lobbed free sneaked into the top corner to finish out the scoring for the half. Half Time Score Ballylongf­ord/ Asdee 2-2 Ballydonog­hue 2-6. Jack Kennelly opened the scoring again in the second half and had the ball in the net in the 2nd minute to extend their lead to seven points. Eoin O’Connor was once again the go to man and he replied with two pointed frees before he struck for his third goal a cracking shot to the top corner and he followed it up with another point to leave the minimum between the sides. Ballydonog­hue reasserted their dominance around the middle and pushed forward at every opportunit­y and drew the foul which were converted by Jack Kennelly who was the games top scorer and Jack Behan as they began to pull away from their opponents to go six points clear by the final whistle.
