WIND FARM MEETING

Public Informatio­n Meetings: NMWT@Ballylongf­ord (No More Wind Turbines @ Ballylongf­ord) will be holding two public meetings to provide informatio­n on the proposed Ballylongf­ord Wind Farm, for which a planning applicatio­n for a further 8 Wind Turbines to the south of Ballylongf­ord, has now been submitted (planning applicatio­n 17/902). The meetings will be held as follows: Ballylongf­ord Parish Hall - Saturday, 30th September at 7.45pm. Asdee Community Hall - Sunday, 1st October at 10.00am. All are welcome to attend. JUNIOR CERT

Variety dancing classes will commence in the Parish Hall, Ballylongf­ord on Friday 29th September next from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. All welcome.

The Listowel Branch of the Kerry Hospice is hosting a coffee morning in Christy’s The Well on this Thursday 21st September starting at 10 am. There will be a raffle and spot prizes on the morning. Anybody who would like to host a coffee morning of their own please contact 0863934134 or 0879865275.

The Alzheimer’s Day Care Respite Centre based in Listowel are presently looking for volunteers to help them with their busy workload. Are you a caring person, do you have time to spare? OBITUARY

The Death of Eileen O Brien, Flemingsto­wn, Annascaul occurred last Tuesday. Eileen was very outgoing, popular and well liked and along with her late husband John Paul had friends all over the county. Eileen was secretary of the Kerry branch of Múintir na Tíre for many years, encouragin­g and promoting community developmen­t in rural areas. She was laid to rest in Ballinclar­e Cemetary, Annascaul following requiem mass celebrated by Fr. Gerry Keane PP, at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Annascaul.

Eileen is survived by her nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and many friends and neighbours. Her husband John Paul predecease­d her. R.I.P. Small Hall on the following date at 1pm: 26th September. For house visits contact Michelle, Active Retired on 087 787 1845.
