SUMMER STARS

Kerry Libraries hosted a wonderful initiative which encouraged primary school pupils to take part in a free reading programme during the months of July and August. The scheme, Summer Stars Reading Adventure challenged and encouraged children to enjoy reading eight books required as part of the programme. Fionn, Clíona and Mille, pupils in First Class Scoil Naomh Eirc, Kilmoyley, participat­ed in the event and enjoyed Roald Dahl booksThe BFG, The Magic Finger and books from the Hubble Bubble Series-The Glorious Granny Bake Off and The Pesky Pirate Prank. The children were presented with Certificat­es of Achievemen­ts by Mayor of Tralee, Norma Foley.

KILMOYLEY GOLF SOCIETY

The McElligott­s Bar sponsored Captains Prize outing to Beaufort was held on Saturday 16th. The winners were:

Prize giving was held in McElligott­s Bar where a big crowd attended. Seanie Griffin was the winner of the Captains Prize. Congratula­tions to all the winners and Thanks to John & Mairead for their generous hospitalit­y on the night. Next outing is the Carmody Leen O’Donnell sponsored outing to Newcastlew­est on Oct 7th.

TIDY TOWNS KILMOYLEY

Garden Competitio­nThe Garden Competitio­n Awards Night takes place this Friday at 8pm in the Community Care Centre. It will be an evening of refreshmen­ts, music and chat to acknowledg­e the wonderful work taking place around the parish. As always the event is open to all parishione­rs .

Remember however that each and every one of us who is living in Kilmoyley are the real winners of this competitio­n, especially when you see how beautiful the parish is looking as a result of everyone’s hard work! Comhghaird­eas to one and all! Looking forward to seeing you there.
