SCÉALTA

Many from the locality were paying their annual visit to the Harvest Festival of Racing in Listowel last week. The Wrenboy competition on Friday night continues to be a big attraction. Quite a few from the locality will be heading for the Ploughing Championships at Screggan, Tullamore this week. The recent heavy rainfall is a source of concern in farming circles in the locality as it has resulted in a softening of the land and if it continues may lead to early housing of cattle
