Kerry leaves its mark on high-end American visitors

A GROUP representing the luxury market in the US has pitched Kerry to high-end travellers recently, bringing luxury and incentive buyers taking to attractions and hotels in the west and south of the county.

The Fáilte Ireland-supported initiative was hosted by destination management company Crafted Ireland, and brought visitors to the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle Peninsula and Annascaul’s South Pole Inn, as well as Aghadoe Heights Hotel, Killarney Park Hotel, and the Ross Hotel.

Only half of the visitors had ever been to Ireland, and most of them had only visited the Dublin region prior to this trip.

“We want these buyers to be impressed by the truly authentic and exclusive luxury products available for overseas visitors in Kerry,” Fáilte Ireland’s Amanda Horan told The Kerryman. “From our research we know that the luxury market globally is growing and evolving. More luxury travellers are seeking experiences that offer private and exclusive escapes which are authentic and provide immersion in the local culture.”

She added the Kerry can deliver on this front thanks to stunning landscapes and personal service. Crafted Ireland CEO Crothur Murphy expanded on this point, explaining that its luxury agents were pleased to discover “luxurious accommodation, exquisite gourmet dining, world-renowned hospitality, and access to authentic local experiences” during their visit.

The targeting of the high-end niche luxury market was highlighted recently by Fáilte Ireland in its ‘Get Brexit Ready’ initiative. The entire global market is valued at €172billion.
