Caroline’s campaign to pack comfort for cancer patients

-

LOCAL business woman Caroline McCarthy is appealing to the wider community for sponsorship for a good cause.

Caroline works under the umbrella of a global health and wellness company called Forever Living, retailing natural Aloe Vera products.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and with this in mind Caroline has decided to put together care packs to donate to those living with cancer and who may be going through or have already gone through chemotherapy.

Caroline has contacted the Tralee based Recovery Haven and Kerry/Cork Link Bus. The bus takes patients to Cork on a daily basis for treatment.

Recovery Haven provides free cancer support services to the people of Kerry. Both of these organizations are delighted to be receiving these care packs and to be able to give them to their patients.

Each care pack will cost the sponsor just €20 and will include Forever Living Tooth Gel which is fluoride free and contains bee propolis and Aloe Vera.

Many chemotherapy patients can suffer from mouth ulcers and these products can be very soothing on the gums, as well as being anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory.

There will also be Aloe Vera deodorant which is aluminium, salts and alcohol free.

Aluminium has been linked to breast cancer in men and women. Along with the Aloe Vera Lip Balm with Jojoba, Caroline will also include some fluffy socks for comfort and some mints or chewing gum.

“I’m thinking that if there were two or three people working together they could come club to sponsor a pack between them. Also maybe a local business could get on board and sponsor four or five packs,” said Caroline.

“I’m really hoping to get as many people as I can together. It’s for a great cause and everybody knows somebody who has been affected by cancer. I think it will be lovely for a patient to receive one of these packs and hopefully it might brighten their day.

“This is especially for somebody who is fighting cancer. My hope is that the packs might just give them a boost and help them feel a little bit better,” she concluded.

Caroline will be facilitating this campaign from now until the end of October and all sponsorship will be greatly appreciated.
