were due to play Ballincoll­ig in their first league game last weekend but the game was postponed due to a bereavemen­t in the Ballincoll­ig club.They will now kick off their campaign next Sunday with an away game to Bandon with a 1pm kick off.

Under 18 Friendly

THE South Kerry Under 18 team, which comprises of a combinatio­n of Killorglin, Killarney and Corca Dhuibhne clubs played a friendly match against a strong Sundays Well side last Saturday.

It was the South Kerry sides first game of the season so from that point of view the aquitted themselves quite well. Sundays Well led by 14-7 at half time with the South Kerry being awarded a penalty try following some strong pressure close to the try line.

Eoin O’Sullivan and Chris Scannell added tries in the second half and with Jack Evans expertly converting one of them the final score ended with Sundays Well 39 South Kerry 17. Although South Kerry played with great endeavour and spirit throughout the contest, a number of turnovers and poor defence cost them in the end.

Under 12

THE underage league competitio­ns have yet to kick off, but Tralee Rugby Club carried their U-12 team to Roscrea where they played in an invitation­al tournament in Cistercian College.

Twenty-four teams took part in the competitio­n, and the Tralee lads did their club proud when they came out on top of a very tough group which included teams from Tullamore, Waterpark, UL Bohs, Lansdowne and Naas.

Munster

DARAGH Fitzgerald of Corca Dhuibhne RFC played a starring role at hooker for the Munster Clubs U-18s as they defeated Leinster by 33-29 to retain their provincial title in Donnybrook last Saturday.
