FIXTURES: Kieran Corridan Intermedia­te Cup semi-final Ballydonog­hue B play Clounmacon A on Saturday October 14th at 3pm. in Moyvane. Roche Memories were made of this. like to thank everyone who sponsored a team, a tee box or a green. The classic was very well supported with over 40 teams entered in the event. The day stayed dry but the course was playing long due to the rain that fell during the week. Great credit goes to the Freeman Electrical team (David Fitzgerald, Killian Wolff, Jack Mc’Carty, Daniel Finnegan) who won with a great score of 95pts. Second place with 87pts was T. Leen, E. Fitzgerald, W. O’Connor & D. Galvin. Third place with 86pts was the team from Dromid GAA club. Longest Drive: Killian Wolff. Nearest the pin: Mick Bolger. A massive thank you to all who supported the event, be it playing, sponsoring a tee or a green, or helping out on the day. A particular word of thanks has to go to all at the Blasket Bar for sponsoring first prize and giving us a great venue for the prize giving on Saturday night. A special word of thanks must also go to the organising committee who put in many hours of hard work which reaped a great benefit for the Club last weekend. Beaufort golf club is booked again for 2018.

FAOI 16 - Our U16 boys played Churchill in the final of the Town League last Sunday evening in Ballyricka­rd. This turned out to be an entertaini­ng and physically demanding game of football. Churchill started the game strongly and went in to half time leading by 1-04 to Ballymac’s 0-2. Ballymac started the second half in a determined fashion but Churchill responded well to keep the gap between the teams and added another goal which looked like ending the game as a contest. However, Ballymac’s Sean Horan scored a goal with ten minutes to go in the game to give the team a chance of closing the gap. They were also unfortunat­e not to get a penalty when Darragh Broderick was fouled in the box. Churchill went on to win the game on a score line of Ballymac 1-08 to Churchill’s 2-13.
