Galvin to play (peaky) blinder for Lixnaw/Finuge GAA with fashion show at the Brandon

-

PAUL Galvin is bringing his winning eye for fashion to bear on the fortunes of his home GAA club in a major fashion show taking place at The Brandon Hotel, Tralee, on Friday, October 20 next.

He’s helped his county and club to countless glories over the years but this time everyone affiliated to Lixnaw/Finuge GAA are rooting for his sartorial skills in what is hoped will prove a big fundraiser for the club’s ongoing operations.

Paul will be joined by a host of other Kerry designers on the night in what is hoped will become a major annual platform for home grown talent.

A long-proven trend-setter, Galvin will be showcasing his best selling Dunnes Stores range on the night, with the show opening with Shelby - the latest men’s fashion range inspired by the hit BBC period drama Peaky Blinders (starring Cork man Cillian Murphy in the lead). Other leading Dunnes design brands will also feature work on the night, including Lennon Courtney, Savida, Gallery and Padraig Harrington.

It’s Paul’s clubmate and former Heritage Minister Jimmy Deenihan who is organising the event, alongside Marietta Doran and Orla Diffly; all with their own proven track records in facilitating serious fashion events.

“Paul Galvin was a great servant of Kerry football and now has become a champion of Kerry design and he is very anxious that through this fashion show, which hopefully will become an annual event, we would create a significant national platform for Kerry designers both established and emerging,” Jimmy Deenihan told

The Kerryman.

Among the Kerry designers to present creations alongside Paul Galvin on the night will be Killorglin’s Tina Griffin, Tralee’s Carol Kennelly, Killarney and Listowel’s Aoife Hannon and the House of Delphine.

A host of great fashion prizes will be presented at the show, including a signed Peter O’Mahony Munster jersey, a signed Joe Canning Galway jersey, a signed John Egan jersey, Dunnes gift vouchers and more. Joe Canning is special guest on the night and he’ll take part in a questions and answer session at the interval alongside Paul Galvin and MC Marietta Doran.

Tickets can be purchased online at website https://www. iregister.ie/v2/events/shelby/ or on the door on the night at the price of €20.
