Why not while away the winter months on the badminton court

- Junior Griffin BADMINTON

WITH the onset of winter badminton is a great outlet for those who’d like to take part in an exciting, indoor sport. Not alone is badminton an active sport, but it is also a great social outlet suitable for all ages where people meet up and can forge life long friendships.

The Irish Badminton Association was formed in 1899 and the sport was played in Kerry as far back as the first decade of the 20th century.

A recent scientific survey on various sports deemed that in badminton a low drop shot at the net to an overhead clear or smash can be the most strenuous cardiovascular movement of any sport.
