U16; Despite their very best efforts our U16s were beaten by favourites Crotta in the final of the North Kerry League Div 1A played in Lerrig last Sunday. Five points separated the teams at half time, 0-8 to 0-3 in favour of Crotta but were it not for the heroics of the Crottta keeper it would have been much different. He made three excellent saves from goal bound attempts from Jack Brosnan, Colin Walz and Mikey Kelliher. The second half was more of the same before a Crotta goal opened up an eight point gap, 1-10 to 0-5 going into the last ten minutes. A bullet of a shot from a twenty one yard Jack Brosnan free was added to with a neat point from Rory McAuliffe and suddenly it was down to four points. However, Crotta had the last say with a point before the final whistle as it all finished 1-11 to 1-6. Well done to all the players who played with great heart and spirit in conditions which were not ideal. Thanks to team management of Mike Kelliher, Tommy Molyneaux ans Joe Shanahan. Thanks to Kilmoyley for the use of their pitch at short notice.
