BALLYMAC journeyed to Sandhill Road, on Sunday and came home with the three points to make it two wins on the trot. This was the first meeting of the sides this season and on a dry calm day and the pitch was in good condition, Ballymac were on top in the first half but were denied on several occasions by the Ballybunion keeper who made some great saves and the sides went in scoreless at half time.

Brian Hanrahan came off the bench in the 70th minute and he made his presence felt quickly when the ball fell to him on the verge of the box and he blasted it to the top corner of the net.

The second goal came in the 80th minute when a 40-yard free kick by Jack O’Shea was parried by the Ballybunion goalie but it still had sufficient power to go over the goal line.

They put the icing on the cake late on when a fantastic run by Ronan Kerin got him in one-on-one with the Ballybunion keeper and he finished to the net from close range. The man of the match for the winners was Jack O’Shea.
