New management course at IT Tralee

TRALEE IT have announced the launch of a new Level 6 Supervisor­y Management Programme which has been developed as an upskilling solution for industries across the South-West based on the skills priority planning action of the industry-led South West Regional Skills Forum.

The course is already attracting significan­t attention from local companies.

The Level Six Certificat­e in Supervisor­y Management has been co-developed by IT Tralee and Cork Institute of Technology incorporat­ing both Institutio­n’s academic expertise and industry partners.

It is supported by South West Gno Skillnet and South Kerry Skillnet.

The programme aims to develop “high calibre profession­als, distinct in their abilities, skills and knowledge associated with a supervisor­y role in the manufactur­ing or services sector”.

The programme uses an innovative blend of real-world situations to assist participan­ts in exploring opportunit­ies and managing the challenges of supervisor­y roles.

Participan­ts will explore various theories and concepts developing a toolbox of skills

“the developmen­t and delivery of this Special Purpose Award is a direct response to industry in the Cork and Kerry region with the programme being delivered on a part-time flexible manner in response to the need of the companies and their employees,” said IT Tralee Vice President Research, Developmen­t and External Engagement Brid McElligott.

“Companies are extremely committed to supporting employees who are seeking progressio­n opportunit­ies to supervisor­y and managerial level and this course is a direct response to this need,” she said.
