1. GET SET TO ENJOY ‘OTHERSIDE’ CHAT SHOW

THE hugely popular ‘Other Side’ chat show is returning to Tralee later this week and the guests on this edition of the show has been revealed.

Taking place in Benners Hotel on the night of Friday October 27, the event will see the author behind the famous ‘Ross O’Carroll Kelly’ character, Paul Howard, being joined by Ronan Grace, Monika Dukarska, Ger Barrett and SON, who will be chatting about their work.

‘Other Side’ is a completely free event and will be starting at 8:30pm on the night.

2. JOHN MITCHELLS READY FOR NIGHT OF STRICTLY

BALLYGARRY House Hotel is set to be one of the places to be this weekend, as John Mitchells get set to host their fundraisin­g ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ night.

Taking place on Sunday October 29 from 8pm onwards, this promises to be a great night for all to enjoy, with over eight partners set to take to the dance floor to try and impress the judges.

Tickets for the event are set to cost €20 each and they can be purchased in O’Mahony’s Bakery and in O’Donoghue’s Pharmacy in Boherbee. They can also be obtained by contacting Rosemary Cronin on 087 2413342 or Hugh Fitzgibbon on 0860887238.

3. HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL SET FOR KNOCKNAGOS­HEL

THE famous ghost trail at the Knocknagos­hel Halloween Festival is back this year, with organisers promising that it will be the scariest year yet.

The ghost trail is returning for its 24th year and is set to cost only €5 to enter; tickets can only be purchased on the night before entering.

The night is starting from 6:30pm with long lines expected; all minors must be supervised by an adult. A childrens disco will also be held in the Knocknagos­hel Community Centre on the night.

4. LOCALS SET FOR JUNGLE SCARE IN KILLARNEY

THE ‘Stephen Lyne Foundation’ and the ‘Kerry Stars Special Olympics Club’ promise to provide people with the ‘night and fright of their lives’ when the ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’ comes to the INEC in Killarney on Thursday October 26.

12 ‘campmates’ will be put to the test by taking part in a series of Bush Tucket Trials; tickets are set to cost €20 and are available from the INEC box office, Easons Killarney and the Kerry GAA store.

5. CHRISTY SET TO ENTERTAIN INEC

THE talents of Christy Moore are set to be on show in the INEC in KIllarney this Friday night, with a performanc­e for everyone to enjoy.

Doors are set to open at 7pm on the night with the show itself set to start at 8pm; tickets will cost €45.

6. ROSE HOTEL TO ROCK FOR SUDAN

THE team behind the ‘Sudan Appeal’, which is looking to send close to 30 doctors to Sudan over New Year, are set to host a fundraisin­g night in the Rose Hotel on Sunday October 29.

A night of music, food and drinks will start from 6:30pm onwards, with tickets for the night set to cost €50.

7. GNEEVEGUIL­LA SET FOR FANCY DRESS

GNEEVEGUIL­LA GAA’s Halloween Fancy Dress Party will take place on Sunday October 29 with nusic set to be provided on the night by ‘Movie Scene’ with everyone welcome on the night.

8. MOYVANE SET FOR VILLAGE FESTIVAL

MOYVANE is pulling out all the stops to make sure that the 25th year of its annual Village Festival goes down a treat.

Starting on Friday October 27, and running until MOnday October 30, there will be plenty for people to choose from over the weekend, including vintage displays, family fun day and a Halloween Fancy Dress barn dance.

9. GET DANCING IN AID OF CHARITY

THE Chernobyl Children’s Fund in Tralee will host their weekly social night dances in the Grand Hotel in Tralee this month.

The dances start at 9pm every Wednesday night with the dances set to cost €8.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
