Elaine launches her videography business

-

BREAKING into any of the traditional media channels was never easy. There was always the cub/apprentice/tea making roles to graduate from on your journey to a job.

Now, If you’re brave and bright enough you can start your own business and ‘supply in’ your services.

That can work well for the people whose business or events you’re promoting and for those you’re supplying at the media end.

Castleisland woman Elaine Prendiville has armed herself with almost everything she needs for this demanding business.

Elaine graduated from U.L. with an Honours Business Degree.

She then did a course in Radio Kerry which covered multiple areas of media and journalism including videography.

For one of her course projects she made a video with John Lenihan during a climb on Carrauntouhill.

She also acted as a voiceover for advertisements on Radio Kerry and was a participant in a project which won an IMRO Radio Award recently. Other entrants in this category included Newstalk and BBC Ulster.

Elaine has now set up her business as a freelance videographer, covering news stories, various family events such as birthdays, christenings and weddings.

“I will also offer my video advertisement making for businesses as I have been doing for the past while.

“These adverts can then be loaded on their own website or to any other platforms.

Some of my recent work includes the opening of the impressive new extension at Muire Gan Smál Primary School in Castleisland.

“I also shot and edited the promo and coverage of the Halloween Night organised in JK’s by the Castleisland Chamber Alliance,” Elaine concluded.
