Novice Cup Semi Finals Ballydonoghue C. play Brosna B Saturday 25th November at 3pm. in Duagh RESULTS: Kieran Corridan Intermediate Cup Final: Ballydonoghue 2-12. Moyvane 2-07. A great back to back win for Ballydonoghue B in miserable conditions with constant rain for the previous 24 hours that continued throughout the game. Considering the weather it was a credit to both sides the standard of football they managed to serve up. The first half was nip and tuck and only a point divided the sides at the break 2-3 to 1-5. Our two goals coming from the evergreen Dermot O’Connor. Little changed in the second half as we found in hard to shake off a dogged Moyvane side with Darren Gogarty coming to our rescue on several occasions. With 42mins gone there was only a single point still separating the sides. Ballydonoghue 2-06. Moyvane 2-5 and three minutes later Moyvane had drawn level. Jack Behan then added two points in as many minutes followed by a Padraig Lyons pointed free and we had weathered the storm in more ways than one, as our superior fitness saw us drive on from there to finish with five points to spare. U16 Div1 final. Ballydonoghue 1-09. Listowel 4-11. This was always going to be a tall order against the combined forces of Knocknagoshel, Brosna and Duagh. There was little between the sides as we approached the second quarter with Brendain O’Neill cancelling out an earlier goal for the combination side. Unfortunately our chances were dealt a major blow when Jack Kennelly shipped a heavy tackle that resulted in a red card for the opposing team player. But also resulted in Jack having to leave the field of play injured. The combination side grew into the game after this and not even a fine penalty save from Ryan O’Neill could save the day. Still a great achievement by our lads to get to the final with several fine prospects for the future on display, on the day we just came up against a very strong combination side in Brosna, Duagh and Knocknagoshel. Team: Ryan O Neil, Robert Foley, Liam Guiney, Emmett Kelly, Alan Foley, Tadgh O Carroll, Daragh Keane, Brendain O
