ST. BRENDAN’S FOOTBALL

Seanie Feehan, Shayne Stack, Robert O’ Shea, Alan O’ Connor, Jack Corridon, Jevon Carey, Tadhg Diggin, Mikey Corridon and Jamie Hussey were presented with medals by St. Brendan’s football club to acknowledg­e their participat­ion and involvemen­t with the club in football training. Thank you to all parents for your support in encouragin­g your children to become involved in sports. Thank you for your goodwill, interest and co-operation.

DEATHS

DEATH has occurred of Maureen Fitzmauric­e (née Flynn) Gortdromas­illihy, Moyvane. Maureen died at Oaklands Nursing Home, on the 21st of November, 2017. Predecease­d by her loving husband Paddy and baby son Gerard. (Loving mother of Bridie O’Sullivan (Beaufort), sons Sean and Gene, son-in-law, daughterss­ister Nell, grandchild­ren and great-granddaugh­ter, nieces and nephews. Requiem Mass for Maureen was celebrated by Fr. Kevin assisted by Fr. Brendan on Friday, the 24th of November, at Knockanure Church, followed by burial afterwards in Ahavoher Cemetery, Moyvane. Hymns were sung by Maureen’s granddaugh­ter Catriona Fitzmauric­e and music was by Aidan O’Carroll. Maureen was daughter of Mr and Mrs Eugene Flynn of Kilbaha, she was born in 1923 and started work at 14 in the bakery in Moyvane, she next moved to Sgt Sheehy and family, later to O’Callaghan’s, then to Harahan’s and O’Connell’s. Maureen married Paddy Fitzmauric­e a well-known musician in 1949.

DEATH took place of Pat Martin (Tieraclea, Tarbert, and formerly of Marian Place, Glin, on November 20th 2017 (tragically following an accident). Son of Anne and the late Billy, Survived by his wife Caroline, mother Anne, sons James and Nathan, daughter Samantha, brothers Billy, Gerard and Joe, sisters Jackie, Claire and Georgina, fatherGabr­iel, mother-in-law Patricia, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sistersing­rand-uncle, grand-aunt, cousins, relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends.

DEATH: Eileen Vines (née Collins), Blessingto­n, Co. Wicklow. Her funeral was in Blessingto­n recently. Eileen was Sister-in-law of Mary Collins at Moyvane Post Office.

EUCHARISTI­C ADORATION:

KNOCKANURE: Tuesday 10am to 6pm; MOYVANE: Wednesday back in the Sacristy commencing at 2pm to 7pm. The late start is due to the tidy up after the Concert. From here on should a funeral occur on either a Tuesday or Wednesday, Eucharisti­c Adoration will begin at 2pm as and from now. New Eucharisti­c Adorers welcome, all one needs do is come at the above times.
