All Seasons Florist – from Kilflynn to Tralee

-

WELL-KNOWN Kilflynn florist Christina Hickey is enjoying the move from her former premises in Kilflynn Village - where she established a first-class reputation in wedding flower designs - to her new store at North Circular Road in Tralee (formerly Flowers by Ann). The move has enabled Christina to build on her extensive range of beautiful and creative designs for clients, thanks to a busier footfall in the town centre and by sticking to her tried and tested motto of putting the customer first.

The changeover has been very much about merging Christina’s existing customer base with a new one, and this is achieved by letting them know their floral designs and preferences will be done to specification and exactly as they want.

“It’s been a very positive move and thankfully my customers in Kilflynn have remained loyal and are still very supportive of me,” Christina said.

“I’m available 24/7 to answer any queries clients have as I feel this is vital regardless of where a store is located. Nowadays it’s important to be contactable at all times in this business and I deal with emails and Facebook queries outside of hours to ensure clients get what they want and to allay any fears they may have with their floral designs,” she added.

Christina knows what it takes to be a success in this business having started floristry when she was 18 working with Tony and Mary Ennis. In total she has amassed over 20 years’ experience in the trade, while having her own business has meant Christina is able to augment her experience with her own range of floral ideas and designs. She also worked at Eleanor’s Florist for 7 years prior to going it alone in Kilflynn and was able to retain 3 part-time staff from Flowers by Ann making the transition a seamless one for everyday customers in Tralee.

“The changeover from Kilflynn to Tralee has been all about delivering the same quality service. At All Seasons Florist our customers can expect quality and attention to detail across a wide range of floral creations,” said Christina.

Natural and bright Christmas designs at All Seasons Florist

Christmas is a time of year when people insist on going that extra mile for home decorations and when it comes to festive embellishments the team at All Seasons Florist guarantee a wide range of choice in spectacular handmade door wreaths, pine mantelpiece displays and table centre displays. Moreover, grave wreaths are always popular this time of year and Christina and her team make lovely seasonal wreaths to order.

“People just love the scent of natural pine this time of year and if you don’t have a pine Christmas tree, then a pine mantelpiece design is the way to go. We make all kinds of festive designs that add warmth and atmosphere to a home at Christmas. We also make lovely personalised, creative, and traditional grave wreaths,” said Christina.

Christina explains that floristry is now very much a year round business with weddings, funerals and all kinds of special occasions demanding a floral component in some shape or form.

Spring, summer, autumn and winter weddings are a specialty of Christina’s and she insists on working one-to-one with brides to ensure they get exactly what they want. The personal touch is the way to go and Christina is adamant that it’s their responsibility at All Seasons Florist to be responsive to what people want.

“For example, weddings can be stressful from a logistical point of view for couples which means if they have their heart set on a particular floral design they like, I will work to achieve it. My clients will never get a straight ‘no’ from me. If there is something they want that I can source and provide, I will do it.”

Christina said that much of the work she does is down to referrals which is suggestive of the reputation her work has built up during her 10 years in business in Kilflynn. All Seasons Florist cater for everything from weddings, valentines, anniversaries, gift-giving, In Sympathy, and a wide range of other bespoke arrangements to suit every occasion.

“I’m very proud of the fact that a lot of my work has been about building up relationships with people and families over the years. That’s a very rewarding part of the job and we’re committed to delivering the best service we can,” Christina said.
