NATIONAL LEAGUE DIVISION ONE KS Killorglin 82 Gamefootage.net Titans 70

KEANES Supervalu Killorglin made the long journey west on Saturday to take on Team gamefootage.net Titans in Galway. Titans are currently three from the bottom of the league, with just two wins from 12, so on paper at least, this should have been a comfortable win for Killorglin but it turned out to be anything but.

Quarter one saw both teams trying to find their range, and after trading basket for basket it was 14-13 to Killorglin with four minutes left. Titans were matching Killorglin in every department and it was clear that Killorglin had a real game on their hands. The score at the end of Q1 was 23-21 in favour of Killorglin.

The second quarter saw Killorglin pull away a little, with the likes of Ian McLaughlin and Declan Wall using all their vast experience to steady the Killorglin team. American Kevin Grey made two big three-pointers in this quarter while there was also significant scores from Daniel Jokubaitis and Ivan Bogdanovic. The half time score was Killorglin 44 Titans 36.

Quarter three saw the double effect of poor Killorglin play in the form of bad passing & rebounding, coupled with more accurate shooting from Titans reduce the lead to a single point, with the score 51-50 Half way through the quarter. More trouble appeared for Killorglin in the form of a mouth injury for big Croation Ivan Bogdanovic, while coach Ignas Sijanus got a technical for appealing a decision a little too strongly. However, this injected a little urgency into Killorglin and they ended the quarter ahead by 9, 63 to 54.

Killorglin introduced Conor Flynn and Liam Croke for the fourth quarter and They, along with Declan Wall, started to control the floor for Killorglin.

Wall made a three-pointer to increase Keanes Supervalu Killorglin lead to 20, and there was no way back for Titans at that stage. They did reduce they lead to 12 in the end, but they were always against the clock, and in the end, Killorglin took the win.
