Avenue move into contention in Premier B
AFTER a slow start to the season Mitchels Avenue are now operating in top gear and they collected three more league points on Saturday evening with an impressive win over Killarney Celtic B.
Darren Breen, Scott Hennessy, David Courtney and Chris Hegarty scored for the Tralee side who are now breathing down the necks of the title contenders in this division. Mark Hartnett scored both of Killarney Celtic’s goals.

ATHLETICO Ardfert continue to move up the table and they collected another three points on Sunday with a comfortable win over Inter Kenmare.
Trevor Wallace, Daithi Griffin, Mike Moloney and Bobby O’Regan scored for the winners. LISTOWEL Celtic moved up to third in the table after easily accounting for Annascaul/Inch United. Adam Toomey, Mikey Moriarty, Stephen McCarthy, Jack Sheehan and Marius Jurka scored for the Fealesiders.
Mastergeeha B 3 Killarney Athletic B 2
MASTERGEEHA moved up to mid table after a narrow win over Killarney Athletic B. Eoin Horan (2) and Ciaran Doolan scored for the winners while Chris O’Meara got both of Killarney Athletic’s goals.
Castlegregory 6 Castlemaine United 2
CASTLEGREGORY moved two points clear at the top of the table after an easy win over Castlemaine. Brandon Hoare was the star of the show for the winners scoring a hat trick while Stevie Speirs, Maurice Slattery and Enda Whelan also scored for the West Kerry side. Cathal Moriarty and Kieran O’Carroll scored for Castlemine.

JOINT table toppers Classic FC slumped to their second defeat of the season going down to a Ballybunion side who have been hitting peak form in recent games.
Callum McSweeney and James MacMahon scored for Ballybunion.

MAINEBANK moved up to within three points of joint table toppers CSCB and Spa Road with a thumping win over Ballyheigue Athletic on Friday night. Ger O’Sullivan (2), Brendan Delaney, James Long, Conor O’Dowd and Eoghan O’Connor scored for the Mid Kerry side who are now well in the mix in the title race. Paudie Carroll scored both of Ballyheigue’s goals.

DELEGATE MEETING
A DELEGATE meeting of all clubs will take place at Mounthawk Park Tralee on Monday, December 18 at 8pm. The first round draw for the Greyhound Bar KO Cup will take place at this meeting and clubs are encouraged to enter this prestigious cup as it is the oldest cup competition in the KDL which started in 1971. The entry fee for the Greyhound Bar KO Cup is €60.
Also on the night the draw for the Dominos Pizza Over-35 Cup will be made. Entry fee is €30. All clubs must send two delegates to this meeting.
REFEREES BEGINNERS COURSE
THE Denny Kerry District League in conjunction with the FAI are holding a Referees beginners course on Saturday and Sunday, January 13 and 14 at Mounthawk Park, Tralee. Anybody interested in doing this course is asked to contact Hon Sec John O’Regan on 086-2656605 to book a place. Deposit of €20 must be paid to the Hon Sec on or before Monday, December 18. As this course is limited to 15 places only those who have paid their deposit will be considered. All clubs are asked to supply at least one candidate.
