CASHEN VALE BOXING CLUB

The Cashen Vale pub quiz in the Railway Bar Ballybunion last Friday night was a great success. The table quiz saw the club’s supporters gather and show their appreciation for another great season for the club, and to test their knowledge and contribute more than 500 Euros towards club funds. Thanks to the Dee family for hosting the event, and for the lovely prizes provided, and our compere Tony Moore who put together the perfect mix of questions and delivered them with his usual aplomb.

The Cashen Vale Boxing Club hosted another Inter- club sparring session in the Irish Collage Ballybunion last Sunday afternoon. Clubs from Tipperary Limerick and Kerry had boxer’s competing, and every boxer was presented with a specially designed medal as a memento of the occasion. Over 40 bouts of sparring were held, and although it was always competitive and each round as busy as the last, and there was a great atmosphere among the highly vocal and appreciative audience.

Elsewhere last Sunday evening our Munster heavyweight champion Kevin Cronin switched on the Milltown’s Christmas lights. This was a great honour for Kevin to be asked to switch on the lights in his home town.
