1. FAMILY FUN DAY AT EQUESTRIAN CENTRE

THERE will be a family fun day held in the Tralee Equestrian Centre this coming Sunday December 17, with plenty of entertainm­ent lined up to keep all the family entertaine­d.

Running from 12pm to 3pm on the day, Santa Claus himself will be in attendance while there will also be pony rides, face painting, arts and crafts, treats and sweets.

Entry will cost €10 per child while over 16’s will go free.

2. SNEEM ROWING CLUB SET FOR 5K SANTA RUN

SNEEM Rowing Club are getting set to host a fundraisin­g Santa 5k run/walk this coming Sunday morning, with organisers hoping that as many people as possible can attend on the day.

Starting at 3pm from the boathouse, adults are set to cost just €10 and children €5 while there will also be a family discount available as well on the day.

Children and parents alike will be able to enjoy both a visit from Santa along with hot drinks and festive treats after the run.

3. KILCUMMIN NS HOLDING CONCERT

A Christmas concert in aid of the Kilcummin NS will take place in the Cathedral in Killarney this coming Sunday, December 17.

Liam Lawton, along with other special guests, will be the main draw on the night; the concert will run from 7pm to 9pm with doors opening to the public at 6pm.

Tickets are set to cost €20 and are available to buy from Kilcummin NS, Kilcummin Post Office, the Cathedral parish office and from Killarney Outlook on High Street.

4. CHRISTMAS PANTOMIME IN THE INEC

TICKETS are currently on sale for the upcoming ‘Beauty and the Beast’ pantomime in the INEC in Killarney.

Starring Karl Spain, Re Rock’s Adam Weafer and Clara Murray, this colurful and exciting panto will run in the venue from January 2 to January inclusive, with two shows taking place daily.

Tickets are set to cost €25 for the shows and are available to buy from he INEC box office.

5. HERMITAGE GREEN IN THE INEC

THE musical talents of Hermitage Green will be on show in the INEC in Killarney this coming Friday December 15.

Playing in the venue’s intimate Acoustic Club setting, tickets are still on sale for this show and are set to cost just €22.90; doors open on the night at 8:30pm with the showtself starting at 9:30pm.

6. DUAGH’S FUNDRAISIN­G COFFEE MORNING

DUAGH’S fundraisin­g coffee morning takes place this coming Friday night, December 15 from 8:30am to 12pm in O’Brien’s bar in Duagh Village.

All funds raised on the day are in aid of the Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.

7. LIXNAW TO HOLD ITS TURKEY TROT

TIS the season for festive runs and Lixnaw is no different as it gets set to host its annual ‘Lixnaw TurkeyTrot 5km Run’ this coming Sunday December 17.

Starting at 10am, organisers are advising all those taking part to be in the village from 9:30am onwards; an adult entry is set to cost €12, children over 10 will cost 3, children under 10 go free while a family of four will cost €23.

8. KILLARNEY ON ICE IS BACK THIS MONTH

THE hugely popular ‘Killarney On Ice’ is back this month and organisers are looking forward to getting back on the ice.

The ice skating rink, which is located at the Beech Road car park, will run on selected dates from December 1 until January 7 with online bookings and opening times available from www.killarneyo­nice.com

9. ENJOY DANCING IN AID OF CHARITY

THE Chernobyl Children’s Fund inTralee will host their weekly social night dances in the Grand Hotel in Tralee this month.

The dances start at 9pm every Wednesday night with the dances set to cost €8. The lineup for the months of November and December are as follows: Peter Burke (December 13) and Best of Friends (December 20).

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.

Make sure that you don’t miss out on this great mornings exercise taking place all around Kerry.
