Christmas swims taking place across the county on big day
WITH the arrival of the festive season comes many things - family time, gift giving, nights out and sweets and treats galore; and, of course, the annual Christmas Day swims that take place around Kerry.
Here are a list of the times of Christmas Day swims taking place around Kerry:
The Portmagee swim will take place from 11am from Cnuicín Pier and will be in aid of the Kerry Cancer Support Services.
The Fenit Christmas Day Swim will again be in aid of the RNLI Fenit Lifeboat services; it will start from 12noon from Fenit Beach.
The Ballinskelligs swim will be in aid of both Ballinskelligs Inshore Rescue and Jigsaw Kerry. The fundraising swim will start at 12:45pm from Ballinskelligs Beach.
A big crowd is expected on the day.
Cromane’s Christmas swim will be in aid of the Diabetes Day Care Unit in University Hospital Kerry and will start at 11am from the Boathouse.
Ballybunion’s annual swim will start from 12.30pm at the Rescue Centre and refreshments will be served after the swim.
The Valentia swim will start at at 12 noon on St Stephen’s Day in the White Strand, Castlecove.
It will be in aid of Tigh An Oileáin, Valentia and Tralee General Hospital and will be in memory of Daniel Murphy and Marguerite O’Connor.
Banna Sea Rescue are in the midst of preparing for their annual Christmas Swim which will take place at 12.30pm sharp on Christmas Day.
Inch’s Christmas Swim is on at 12.30pm.
