A WELL-KNOWN Kerry rally competitor has raised over €30,000 for the The Kerry-Cork Healthlink Cancer Bus after a year of fundraising at motoring events throughout the county.

Glenflesk man Diarmuid Lynch was prompted to support the voluntary service after his daughter was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer in 2016.

Lynch, who is a well-respected local navigator and an active member of Killarney and District Motor Club, started selling raffle tickets at this year’s Circuit of Kerry Rally. The prizes - dubbed speeding tickets - include passenger rides in rally cars and a trip to the World Rally Championship in Spain, was a regular sight at rallies in Kerry and Cork during the 2017 season.

Diarmuid’s wife, Breda, is an active member of Glenflesk Ag Rith and she organised a similar fundraiser aimed at running enthusiasts in the county. Between them they have raised over €30,000 for the service that takes Kerry cancer patients to Cork University Hospital on a daily basis.

It’s one thing win games. It’s another thing completely outclassing your closest rivals as Man City have done so often this season. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United and Spurs all handed the same treatment by Guardiola’s men.

rare cancer. The shock of such a diagnosis completely turns your world upside down. It was decided her care and treatment would be in Cork University Hospital. On our first day over in CUH the first thing we saw was The KerryCork Healthlink Cancer Bus and it felt very comforting as it passes our front door every day. As we got used to the reality if Leah having cancer, both Diarmuid and I decided to fund raise for the bus but decided we would fundraise for the year as cancer treatment is not a one off and typically treatment will go on for at least a year.”

The draw for Speeding Tickets will take place at The Kerry Way pub in Glenflesk on December 29.

goals for fun. York languish in mid table on level 6 struggling to beat part time teams. That stings!!! #ycfc #mcfc

Finally watched the Tottenham vs Man City game. As a Spurs fan, I’m obviously not happy about the loss. But as a goalkeeper, my god, Ederson’s distribution is unreal. That driven side volley to Walker was insane.

You can’t even kick De Bruyne out of being brilliant. What a player.
