Local man Rory O’Driscoll wins new car in Inter Kenmare FAI national draw

INTER Kenmare announced the club winners in this year’s FAI National Draw competitio­n with Rory O’Driscoll claiming one of the four new Ford Fiestas up for grabs in the Regional sections of the draw. Other winners were Idris Gul, who won a signed Ireland jersey, Dermot Healy, who won an iPad Air, and Des Shea who won a two-night stay for two at the Castle Court Hotel.

Inter Kenmare chairman Sean Murphy said: “I’m delighted that the club and its members have been so successful in this year’s FAI national draw competitio­n and in particular Rory O’Driscoll who has always been so generous when we hold any sort of fundraisin­g event, he is a well deserving winner. The competitio­n is a brilliant event and a great fundraiser for soccer clubs nationally not just only our own, it provides a simple and effective template for clubs to raise finances. We hope this win helps to promote the event even more in the coming season’s and would like to thank all those who bought, sold and organised this event within the club.”

Rory O’Driscoll said: “I’m obviously happy to have won such a great prize. It came as a real shock. Mostly I’m delighted for the club as it will hopefully help to promote the event even more next year for them. I’ve always had a soft spot for the club ever since my own son played with them and it’s great to see them have a win.”

Principal of PS Inbhear Sceine, Dermot Healy, who won an iPad, said: “I’m very happy to have won something in the draw. It is a great bonus for supporting the club, I see with my own eyes within the school and around community how much work is put in by the club, long may it prosper.”
