Ballyhar Dynamos hit Sporting Listowel for six in high scoring game

Ballyhar Dynamos 6 Sporting Listowel 1

THIS game at Murt Scott Park was delicately poised at half time with Ballyhar leading 1-0 courtesy of a Diarmuid O’Mahoney goal.

However, the home side turned in a tremendous second half display and goals from Shane O’Donoghue, Rafa Syn, Padraig O’Connor, Evan Cosgrave and James Falconer gave them a very comfortabl­e win at the end.

Ballyhar’s best players were Patrick Daly, Pat Browne, Dan O’Shea, Kevin O’Sullivan and James O’Donoghue. The Sporting Listowel goal was scored by Brian Greaney.

Inter Kenmare B 1 QPR 3

QPR stretched their unbeaten record to eight games on Sunday and moved seven points clear at the top of the table when they got the better of Inter Kenmare.

Mark Reen (2) and Donal Kelliher scored for the East Kerry side who are the in form team in this division this season and will be strong title contenders. They have been knocking on the door of success for a few years now and with men like Stephen Lehane at the helm they could be in line for silverware this season if they can keep the momentum going. They now have six wins and two draws from eight games and are sitting prettily at the pinnacle of the table.

However, they won’t have it all their own way as Ballyheigu­e Athletic are in second place seven points behind with a game in hand. CG Killarney are also hot in pursuit a further point back with a game in hand while Athetico Arfert could be the dark horses as they have four games in hand over the league leaders but they are 11 points behind. Tadgh Sugrue scored for Inter Kenmare.

DENNY DIVISION 1B

St Brendans Park 5 Asdee Rovers 2

THIS was a big test for two sides that have started the season very well and it was a young Park side who took the laurals and ended Asdee Rovers unbeaten run and in the process leapfrogge­d Castlegreg­ory to take over at the top of the table. Mike Burke (2), Aaron Ward, Padraig McCannon and Sebastian Vasiu scored for the winners while Darragh Keane and Padraig O’Neill scored for Asdee.

The Park now lead the division on 18 points from 11 games with Castlegreg­ory second a point behind but with three games in hand.

Listowel Celtic are four points further back on the same amount of games while both Asdee and Windmill United are also very much in the hunt as they have five games in hand over the leaders.

DENNY DIVISION 2A

Clanmauric­e 0 Killorglin B 4

IN the only game played in this Division Killorglin made up valuable ground on the leading title contenders with a comfortabl­e win over Clanmauric­e.

Ryan O’Riordan (2), Mikey O’Sullivan and Dylan Carey scored for the Mid Kerry side who are now just four points behind table toppers Classic FC with two games in hand.

This division is turning into a four-horse race with Classic FC on top with 15 points from seven games, Tralee Bay FC are second two points behind on the same number of games.

Ballymac Celtic are lying in wait ready to pounce in third position three points behind Tralee Bay on 12 points with a game in hand while Killorglin are just a point further back with two games in hand over the league leaders.
