CHRISTMAS PARTY

Knocknasna NS. will be hosting a morning filled with drama, music, poetry and song along with festive carols to commemorat­e the 50th anniversar­y of Scoil Naomh Pádraig. A book containing lots of memorabili­a of past and present students will be available to purchase on the day.

The morning will also consist of a cupán tae and of course a chat with past and present pupils and staff. The invitation is open to everyone so spread the word!!Thursday, December 21 from 9; 30 am.

CHRISTMAS CAROLS

A recording of the annual Carol Service which took place in the Church of the Assumption on December 3 last will be broadcast on WL102fm on Thursday, December 21 from 7-8pm.

PUBLIC CONSULTATI­ON

Following a meeting of Abbeyfeale Community Council it has been unanimousl­y agreed to hold a Public Consultati­on on the completed research and proposed plans on the Convent Building in Abbeyfeale at the Glórach Theatre on Thursday, December 28 at 7pm.

This is timed specifical­ly to allow as many people as possible including those home on holidays the opportunit­y to view the research and proposed plans presented by ACC and to get feedback from everyone attending on what they feel might work best at that location and suggestion­s on how to source funding.

It’s all about saving an iconic building and bringing jobs back into Abbeyfeale and the wider Community. Refreshmen­ts Served. All are Welcome.

FARMERS MARKET

A huge thank you to all our customers who came out rain, hail or shine over the past year. We will be in the Square on Friday, December 22 and Saturday, December 23 and then back for 2018 in mid January.

GLÓRACH NOTES

The festive season season is almost upon us but planning for the New Year is well underway here at the Glórach. On Monday, January 1 our Bingo nights return at the usual time of 8.30 pm, On Wednesday, January 3 we will be screening the 2015 film, Brooklyn. Based on the Colm Tóibín novel, and starring Saoirse Ronan, the film offers a wonderful snapshot of 1950s Ireland and the experience of a young emigrant to New York.
