Kilmoyley: 9 pm Christmas Eve Vigil Mass; 10 am Children’s Christmas Day MassArdfer­t: 8 pm - Christmas Eve Vigil Mass; 11 am Christmas Day Mass; Christmas Communion Calls Eucharisti­c Ministers will take Communion to the sick and housebound on Christmas Day from 9.30 am in Ardfert and after 10 am Mass in Kilmoyley.

COMMUNITY CARE LOTTO

There was no winner of the €2,500 jackpot for the 11th of December 2017. Numbers drawn by Eoin McCarthy were 4,6,14,24. The €50 winner was Brendan O’Sullivan, Boher, Banna and the two €30 winners were Darren Godley, Snipefield and C Costello, Ballyduff. Bookings for the Community Centre can be made on 087-1611720.

GYMSTART CHALLENGE

Huge congratula­tions to all those who participat­ed and to the many coaches and enthusiast­s who contribute­d to the very successful GymSTART challenge hosted by University of Limerick on Sunday 10th December. Ciara, Gráinne, Nicole and Millie had an opportunit­y to display their gymnastic skills in the Sport Arena UL in front of coaches and supporters. The girls are very dedicated to this discipline which teaches them life skills such as balance, respect and determinat­ion.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Ardfert/Kilmoyley Community Games would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year 2018. Whyte of Rathea and Kieran O’Carroll of Clountubri­d who were recently married by Fr. Brick at Rathea Church.

Also Congratula­tions to Aileen Morris (daughter of David and Lily of Coilbee, Listowel) and Todd Richards of Melbourne, Australia, who were married in Listowel Church by Canon O’Connor on the 9th December 2017.

Best Wishes also to Mike and Bill Kennelly who celebrated their 80th and 90th birthday recently in Listowel.

CONCERT:

Knockanure children and their teachers put on a wonderful concert at the Community Centre last week. The audience see the finish product and were enjoying the event.

Spare a thought for all who put time and energy in preparing, planning and coordinati­ng the show. We should make every effort to help and show our appreciati­on. Knockanure Community Centre and Knockanure School staff had a Christmas party in Listowel on separate nights.

DRAW:

DEATHS

Tom Flaherty, Coil, Listowel, died December 13th 2017 at his daughter Mary’s residence. Husband of the late Mary. Survived by daughter Mary, sons Maurice and Morgan, son-in-law, daughter-inlaw, and granddaugh­ters Marie and Caroline, nephew, and nieces. Requiem Mass was celebrated for Tom Flaherty on Saturday, December 16th, St. Theresa’s Church, Ballydonog­hue, with burial afterwards in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Listowel.

DEATH has taken place of Nora Kennelly (nee Hudson), Pallas, Listowel, Co. Kerry and formerly of Kilbaha, Moyvane on December 10th, 2017. Nora, predecease­d her son Neilus (Con) and her grandson Fiontan, survived by her husband Matthew, her son Ned, her daughters Mary, Siobhan, and Anne, daughters-in-law Anne Marie and Sinéad, sons-in-law John, Joe, and Ciaran, grandchild­ren, her brother William, sisters-in-law Mary, Elaine, and Mary, nieces and nephews. Requiem Mass for Nora Kennelly was celebrated on Wednesday, the 13th of December at Irremore Church, followed by burial afterwards in Kilshenane Cemetery.

DEATH of John Broderick of Coolnaleen, Listowel on the 9th of December, 2017. Pre-deceased by his wife Sheila Stokes, and brothers Anthony and Danny, and sister Mary Horgan. Survived by son Joseph (Clonmel) and Declan, and daughters Katherina and Eilish, his daughter-inlaw Elaine, sons-in-law Stephen and Jack, grandchild­ren, brother Bernard, sister Nora Sheehan. Requiem Mass for John was celebrated on the 12th of December at St. Mary’s Church, Listowel, followed by burial afterwards in St. John Paul II Cemetery, Ballybunio­n Road, Listowel.

GAA FUNCTION

Medal presentati­on of 2016 Kerry Novice medals, Munster Novice medals and 2017 league medals as well as Junior medals will take place on Thursday December 28th in the Dingle Skellig Hotel, beginning at 7.45pm. The 1967 team that won the West Kerry league will also be honoured that night. Tickets €30 are available from club officials, please book by December 26th.
