The numbers drawn at last weeks loltto draw were 1, 6, 13 and 16. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. The winners of the lucky dips were Derek Power, Kostal, Joe McAulliffe, Templeglan­tine, Yvonne Lyons, Rockchapel, Patrick Brosnan and LT Curtin, Three Counties Bar, Brosnan. The promoters prize was won by Evan Lacy. Next weeks jackpot will be €2,500

CARD GAME

The winners of first prize in last weeks card game were, Pat Fitzgerld, Eileen Finnegan and Jackie Hartnett. The runners up prize went to Marian Roche, Betty Curtin and Noel Murphy. The table prize was won by the team of Mary McCarthy, Mary Ann Collins and Den Lane. The winner of the door prize was Marian Roche with raffle prizes going to Nora Lyons, Margaret McAuliffe, JJ Lenihan, Lawrence McAulliffe and John Lyons.

The final game before christmas will be held on this Thursday night at 9Pm. There will be extra prizes on offer for the raffle and all are welcome.

GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of last weeks Gaa lotto where the numbers drawn were 5, 8, 26 and 30. The winners of lucky dips were, Jimmy O Connell, Lower Road, Mountcolli­ns, John Lenihan, Caherlevoy, Mountcolli­ns, David O Connell, The Village Mountcolli­ns and Jack Lane, Knockulcar­e, Mountcolli­ns. The promoters prize went to Noel Dillane. This weeks jackpot will be €2,300.

CLUB NA NOG

The annual General Meeting of Mountcolli­ns Club na Nog was held on Tuesday attendance. The officers for the coming year are, Chairperso­n, Denise O Rourke, Vice Chairperso­n, Maria O Mahony, Secretary, Mary Dillane, Assistant Secretary, Karen Quirke, Treasurer, Timothy Walsh, Child Welfare Officer, Mary Dillane.

Team Coaches are, John Paul O Sullivan, Vincent O Connor, Peter O Mahony, Denise O Rourke, Michaerl Lenihan, Aileen O Connor, Marie P Mahony Eric O Connor and Timothy Begley.

RECENT DEATH

Sympathy is extended to Geraldine Lenihan and family, Caherlevoy, Mountcolli­ns on the death of her brother Pat Moroney, Shanagolde­n, Co. Limerick who passed away during the past week. Burial took place in Shanagolde­n after requiem mass. May he rest in Peace.

SENIOR NKL DIV 2 FINAL: An under strength Moyvane Team lost out to Ballyduff in the Senior NKL Div 2 Final in Saturday last on a final score of Moyvane 1-3, Ballyduff 4-9.

MOBILE LIBRARY

The mobile library’s next visit to Scartaglin will be on Thursday December 21 from 9.45am to 10.15 am. This is the last opportunit­y to borrow books and audio visual material before Christmas. This is an excellent service and is free as well.

GAA CELEBRATIO­N NIGHT

Scartaglin GAA Club will honour and celebrate The Kerry Minors great victory in this years All-Ireland Final with a night in the Heritage Centre on this Thursday December 21 and also honoured on the night will be local minor stars Eddie and Sean Horan from Coolnagera­gh, as well as honouring past minor players from the locality. There will also be a medal presentati­on to underage teams. Activities commence at 7.30pm, so it should be a great night.

CHILDCARE CENTRE

The staff and management of Scartaglen Childcare Centre would like to wish all a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. The Creche will close on Friday December 22 at 1pm and will re-open on Thursday January 4th 2018. The Pre-School and After School will re-open on Monday January 8th 2018.

GOAL MILE

The annual GOAL Mile will take place at An Riocht Athletic Grounds, Castleisla­nd on Christmas Day morning from 10am to 12.30pm. You can walk, run or jog and you can help a charity too in the process all are welcome.

HOSPICE COLLECTION

Castleisla­nd Hospice will hold their Annual Church Gate Collection on the evening of Saturday December 23rd and on the morning of Sunday December 24th . Your support would be greatly appreciate­d.

The local Scoil Náisiúnta is holding a Christmas Carol Service in Halla Inse Bán on Wednesday, December 20 at 12 noon and all are welcome to attend. Beidh fáilte roimh gach duine

COMMUNITY COUNCIL:

A well-attended meeting of the local Community Council held at Halla Inse Bán recently got a full report on the annual Sale of Work and Bazaar. The event was considered to be quite successful and all those who contribute­d in anyway to the successful outcome of the day were sincerely thanked. The annual general meeting of the Community Council will take place early in the new year and there is an invitation for more parishione­rs to become involved. CÚRSAÍ EAGLAISE

The mass schedule for this week is as follows, Tuesday-Friday at 11am, Saturday 6pm, Sunday 10.30am. On Monday next, Christmas Eve, mass will be at 6pm and at 10.30 on Christmas Day. The anniversar­y mass for Eileen, John and Denis Flynn and all deceased members of the Flynn Family, Doonakenna takes place on Tuesday of this week. On Saturday next the anniversar­y mass for Vincent Sheehan, Mountcourt­enay, will be celebrated and on Sunday for Michael and Peg McNamara and all deceased members of the McNamara family, Tullig South. COMHALTAS

The weekly music classes concluded for the Christmas break on Monday last with a recital for parents and family members. Classes will resume again on Monday, January 8. The Comhaltas craobh wishes to say mile buíochas to all members and supporters who assisted in anyway throughout 2017. Go raibh Nollaig den scoth agaibh go léir.

GREENWAY WALK

The annual Christmas Walk along the Great Southern Trail Greenway will take place on Wednesday 27th December. Walkers will assemble at the Longcourt House Hotel, Newcastle West at 12.30pm and will be transporte­d by courtesy coach to the starting point at Barnagh. All walkers are asked to wear visibility vests. Cyclists are also welcome on the day and it is suggested that they assemble at the hotel at 12.30pm. Beidh fáilte roimh gach éinne ar an lá. The newly published "Limerick & Kerry Railway: Twilight Years" by Liam O’Mahony which contains lots of interestin­g informatio­n and photos is available in local shops.
