Scartaglen 28 Scoil Nuachabháil 13
SCARTAGLEN netted the first four scores of the game. Nuachabháilwere winning plenty of ball but took some time to register their first score which came from Roisín Rahilly in response to one for Scartaglen from her cousin Muireann Rahilly. Scartaglen’s Ciara Casey won some great rebounds preventing Nuachabháil from getting any second chances. Scartaglen led 13-6 at the interval.
Nuachabháiladded seven more points to their tally in the second half but a very strong Scartaglen side went on to score 28 in total, 14 of these coming from Ciara Casey who was a worthy MVP.

Scoil Ide 6 Gaelscoil Aogáin Dubh 16
GAELSCOIL Aogain’s Rebecca Reidy was first to register a score in the Senior Girls B final. Ciara Cronin hit a basket for ScoilIde but Aine Ni Mhurchú responded for the GaelScoilto leave the half time score at four points to two.
ScoilIde had a good height advantage but Gaelscoilwere the stronger side, clever in their passing and accurate with shots. They had strength in Rebecca Ni Riada, Blathnaid Ni Chathasaig and Aine Ni Mhurchu to name but a few.
Ciara Cronin, Mary Kate Culhane and Kerry Costello were strong for Scoile Ide but on the day it was Gaelscoilwho took the game.

JUNIOR NS GIRLS LOCAL
Kilmurry NS 16 Muire Gan Smal 4
BOSIA Czczepa was first to score for Muire Gan Smalbut Kilmurry’s. Leah Griffin responded for Kilmurry and went on to stealand score again. Amanda Gleasure added another for the Cordalside who had possession for most of the first part of the game. Leah Griffin’s ballcontrolset her up for her third score of the game.
Bosia Delelo, netted Muire Gan Smal’s second score of the game. Ther half time score was eight points to four in favour of Kilmurry.
Griffin open the scoring in the second half to push Kilmurry’s lead to six points. Alana Kelliher and Julie Donegan and Griffin all assisted in pushing Kilmurry to take the first finalof the day.

JUNIOR NS GIRLS
Scoil Nuachabháil 14 Gaelscoil Aogáin 16
A STRONG Gaelscoilside took an early lead, Erin Ni Chonchúir winning most rebounds, making steals an forward passing to ensure her team mates Deirdre Ní Mhuineacháin, Caitlyn Ni Swanser and Holly Ní hOráin secured the scores. Sarah O’Rourke, Rosemary Lucid and JillQuirke allmade scores to bring Nuachabháilback into the game. The half time score was six points to eight in favour of Gaelscoil.
Two quick scores Aishlinn Baily and Katie Hobbert put the Ballymac side ahead by a basket. ScoilNuachabháilreached 12 points but a determined Erin Ní Chonchúir drove to the board not once but twice to levelwith less than a minute to go. She went on to rebound and get the fast break to regain possession with 20 seconds on the clock, a jump ball gave the opposition passion and a chance to equalise but again a rebound from Ní Chonchúir ensured that the game went to overtime.
Gaelscoil’s Holly Ní hOráin made the first in overtime and Maura Culloty responded. Ní hOráin hit another, the roars of the crowd spurred both sides on and with 25 seconds to go GaelScoilled by two points and they held the lead to the end.

St. Mary’s Sparrows 32 Bobcats 9
A STRONG St. Mary’s paneltook controlof this game from the tip off and registered 13 points in the first half while holding their opponents scoreless. The second half saw Bobcats register nine points but St. Mary’s were too strong for them and took the game.

U-16 BOYS
Glenbeigh Falcons 18 St. Brendan’s 33
ST. Brendan’s had the edge in this final, their first seven points coming from MVP for the game James Fernane. Glenbeigh had two impressive three pointers in the early part courtesy of Kaiya O’Flaherty and Rian O’Donovan. O’Donovan added two more from the perimeter in the second half but big performances from Rap Buivydas, Jack Tobin and Fernane ensured a strong finish for Brendan’s
