Wins for Listowel and Castleisland underage teams
UNDER 16 CLUB BOWL GROUP 1
Listowel 19 Kilrush 14
TRIES from Denis Dowling, Murty Moriarty and Cale Sweeney and two conversions from Ethan O’Connor sealed a good win for Listowel U-16s. It was a fantastic game of rugby in a game that could have gone either way. Aidan Mulvihill reffed the game superbly.
U14 WEST MUNSTER LEAGUE PHASE 2
Abbeyfeale 12 Castleisland 19
CASTLEISLAND U-14s travelled to the Grove in Abbeyfeale last Saturday and came away with the spoils after a very entertaining contest.
Castleisland dominated the first half as the home side struggled to get going. They soon had three tries with Red O’Connor touching down twice, and Podge Brosnan obliging with the other try. Donal Daly converted 2 of the tries. Abbeyfeale managed to keep in touch when they scored an impressive team try on the stroke of half time to leave the score at 19- 5. The home side dominated the second half but the Castleisland defence stood solid throughout. It took a converted last minute try by Abbeyfeale to put respectability on the scoreboard as Castleisland made the journey home with the points.
