Oíche Chiarraí tickets sell fast with Gooch as star attraction
THERE is massive interest in Oíche Chiarraí in Dublin next month ahead of Colm Cooper’s crowning as Kerry Person of the Year.
Oíche Chiarraí, the annual flagship event of the Kerry Association, takes place on Friday, March 2, at the Ballsbridge Hotel with organisers advising people to pre-purchase tickets asap in order to avoid disappointment.
It’s no wonder interest is so intense this year with the legendary Colm Cooper taking the big honour of Kerry Person of the Year 2018; the latest in the accolades roll-call of the Kingdom’s great and good.
Also to be honoured on the night will be the Laochra Chiarraí (Kerry heroes) - named this year as the Special Olympics clubs of Kerry.
Tickets, priced at €65, can be booked on-line at the link www.kerryassociation.ie/purchase-tickets/ or by sending a cheque to Association secretary, Mary Shanahan at 12 Belvedere Place, Dublin 1. The Association will then post the tickets out. They say all tickets must be pre-purchased.
The night will get underway with dinner at 8pm - followed by the major presentations. The Ballsbridge Hotel has been offering a special B&B rate of €129 single or €139 for a double or twin room. To book rooms at this rate contact the Ballsbridge Hotel on (01) 668 4468 and quote Kerry Association.
