Higher Level Maths students do battle

A QUIZ for higher level leaving cert maths students was held in the Institute of Technology Tralee where the county’s brightest maths students competed against each other.

The quiz consisted of eight rounds and included elements from the Leaving Cert Higher Level maths course with students competing in teams of four.

Competition on the night was very tough with only the narrowest margins separating the leading teams, St Michael’s College, Listowel and Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra, Rathmore at the end of the final round.

A gallant effort from the Sliabh Luachra students was not enough on the night and they lost by one point to eventual winners St Michael’s.
