1. MOUNTHAWK’S PARENT COUNCIL TABLE QUIZ

FOR all you boffins out there, this one is for you - there will be a Mercy Mounthawk Parent Councils table quiz held in the school tomorrow (Thursday, March 8).

Starting at 7:30pm, the event will be held in the Centenary Hall in the school and will have questions to suit all ages and abilities; if you are in and around the area on the night - be sure to grab your friends and pop in.

2. ST JOSEPHS FASHION SHOW IN BALLYBUNIO­N

ST Joseph’s Secondary School in Ballybunio­n are preparing to host a great night of fashion this coming week with their 14th annual Parents Associatio­n Fashion Show.

The fundraisin­g fashion show will take place on Thursday March 15 in the Tinteán Theatre at 7:30pm; tickets are set to cost €10 and are available by calling 0863681022.

3. FUNDRAISIN­G DANCE FOR VALENTIA CENTRE

A FUNDRAISIN­G dance in aid of the Valentia Community Centre will be held on St Patrick’s Day night will be held in the centre itself, in what promises to be a great night of entertainm­ent for all.

There will be music by Eddie Lee and Paddy Casey on the night from 9pm onwards - organisers say all support on the night is greatly appreciate­d.

4. KILLARNEY’S MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL 10K RUN

WITH the Killarney Mountain Festival running from Friday March 9 until Sunday March 11, there is plenty of things taking place over the weekend to keep everyone entertaine­d.

One of these events is the Killarney Mountain Festivak 10k Run which will take place on Sunday, March 11; runners, walkers and joggers are all welcome on the day - for all registrati­on details - see the KIllarney Mountain Festival on Facebook.

5. JOHNNY MCEVOY SET TO ENTERTAIN INEC

THE musical talents of Johnny McEvoy will be in show in Killarney’s INEC this weekend.

Performing in the Acoustic Club of the venue on Saturday, March 10, tickets for the show are set to cost just €30 and are available to buy from the INEC box office.

The show will start at 8:30pm on the night with doors opening at 7:30pm - this is one event that promises to be a great night of fun and entertainm­ent.

6. KILTALLAGH NS TO HOLD TABLE QUIZ

KILTALLGH National School will be holding a fundraisin­g table quiz in the Killorglin Golf Club on Thursday March 8; organisers are encouragin­g everyone in and around the area to come in and show their support on the night.

7. MODERN CLASSIC IN TRALEE CINEMA THIS WEEKEND

TRALEE Omniplex continues its runs of screening modern classics this weekend when it shows LOrd of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring’ from Saturday, March 10 to Monday March 12.

Tickets for the screening are currently on sale from omniplex. ie - don’t miss out on this great walk down nostalgia way.

8. WATERVILLE SET FOR GREAT NIGHT OF TABLE QUIZ FUN

THERE will be a table quiz taking place during Seachtain na Gaeilge in the Waterville Inn on the night of Wednesday March 14.

So, if you are someone who wants to test their knowledge against some of Kerry’s best minds, call on into the event next Wednesday night.

The event will start at 9pm on the night and all funds raised will go towards the 135 Irish Pilgrimage Trust.

9. TICKETS ON SALE FOR ‘LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS’

TICKETS are currenly on sale for the premiere of the ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ production which will show in Tralee’s Siamsa Tíre from Wednesday, March 21 to Saturday March 24.

Presented by the ground-breaking Light Opera Society of Tralee, the smash hit sci-fi musical has devoured the hearts of theatre and cinema goers for over 30 years.

The show will be directed by talented Tralee duo Aidan and Gráinne O’Carroll; tickets are set to cost €19 with the show starting at 8pm on the night.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
