€10,000 raised for Kerry Hospice

- By FERGUS DENNEHY

THE Kerry Hospice Foundation was this past week delighted to be presented with a cheque for €10,000, all of which had been raised through the great work of a Killarney hotel.

The money was raised through a charity vintage afternoon party run by the Great Southern Hotel – along with the owners of the hotel, the Scally family – on Saturday, January 27.

“It was a wonderful day back in January and even more amazing was that we didn’t have to do anything for it. The team at the Great Southern Hotel were fantastic in arranging everything; we only had to arrive and pick up the cheque,” said Andrea O’Donoghue, PRO for the Kerry Hospice Foundation, speaking to The Kerryman on Monday.

“We’re absolutely delighted with the amount raised, it’s a huge sum of money. It’s greatly appreciated. The Scally family, the owners of the hotel, they came to the new In Patient Unit last week to have a look around at the set-up and they presented us with the cheque. A wonderful day out,” Andrea finished.

The cheque was presented to Director of Nursing Mari O’Connell and Mary from the Kerry Hospice Foundation.
