- John ReReidy’s

PLANS for Saturday’s St Patrick’s Day Parade in Castleisland were finalised at last week’s meeting.

The move to the Castleisland Co- Op Mart ground is now firmly in place.

A detailed plan of the layout was discussed and will be clearly laid out on the day for all taking part with safety as a top priority.

The parade will be lead by the Cullen Pipe Band and all participants must be in their lane on the mart grounds at 12.30pm – at the latest.

Starting time will be 1pm sharp and the parade will make its way to the old library and turn left down town and around the Back of the Forge and back up town again turning right at the old library and finishing in the mart grounds.

Members of the public are asked to park on the outskirts of the town as there will be major delays from 12.30 to 2 30 pm.

Mart Lane will be one way only and only those taking part will be allowed through. Church Street /Barrack Street will also be one way with traffic being diverted on to Killarney Road.

Any late comers will not be allowed join the parade at any stage.

As a large crowd is expected the gardai are asking for everyone’s co-operation in the interest of health and safety. All stewarts are asked to assemble in the mart yard at 11.30 am
