LOTTO: Our lotto jackpot continues to grow. The jackpot is now €9050. The numbers drawn were 4, 14, 18, 24. COISTE NA NOG QUIZ: Our annual fundraisin­g Table Quiz was held last Friday night in Mike O’Neill’s Railway Tavern. A great night was had by all, and much needed funds were raised for our underage teams. Many thanks to everyone who came along on the night. Congratula­tions to our winning team “The Corner Boys”. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes, our hosts the O’Neill Family and everyone who helped organise the event. PS CORCHA DHUIBHNE: Congratula­tions to PS Corcha Dhuibne, in particular the Annascaul players involved, who won the Corn Ui Mhuiri Final on Saturday. Munster Final Scor–Despite putting up a marvellous performanc­e against the cream of Munster Leiriu (Novelty) talent and getting a huge ovation from the huge attendance; the Asdee Novelty Act Group of Kathleen Carmody, Mairead Doyle, Ann Maria Tydings, Barry Francis, Gerdie O Carroll and Jack Hennessy with their sketch “TheDaisy Market” failed to get the Adjudicato­rs nod at the Munster Finals of Scor Sinsear on Saturday last held in the Community Centre Cappamore. Well done to all involved. County League Div. 5 A Asdee 1-11 Knocknagos­hel 0-12. This was a game that went down to the wire with end to end play and the lead changing hands on a number of occasions and the teams were all square on no fewer than six occasions. The game opened brightly with Asdee on top but shooting left a lot to be desired. Knock were first on the scoreboard with John O Keeffe after 7mts. It was nip and tuck for the duration of the half with both sides exchanging good scores. Darragh Keane, Eoin Kennedy and Eoin Tydings Asdee and Michael Walsh John Walsh and Niall Barrett, Knock were the standout players in all through. Niall Barrett, John Walsh got on the scoresheet for Knock while Eoin Tydings, the games top scorer with 6pts, Eoin Kennedy, Darragh Keane were on target for the home side who just held a slender lead at the interval. Asdee 0-6 Knock 0-5. The second half was hughly competitiv­e; with some good hard hits going in but in fairness always inside the rules of the game. Niall Barrett had Knock ahead from a free in the 10thminute; 0-9 to 0-8. However Asdee were quick to respond and a move that started in defence by substitute Martin Collins went all the way to Eoin Kennedy who rattled the net from close range.
