Fitzgerald nominated for top FAI award

TRALEE man and former Tralee Dynamos star Brian Fitzgerald has been nominated for the FAI Intermedia­te Player of the Year for 2017.

He will be up against Jimmy Bradley (Cockhill Celtic) and Aidan Roche (Liffey Wanderers).

All FAI award winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony taking place in RTÉ Studios on next Sunday night, March 18. He has represente­d Cobh Ramblers and Avondale United with distinctio­n before signing up for Cobh Wanderers and is now in his fourth season with the club.

His performanc­es last season gained him the ultimate local prize of Player Of The Year at the Munster Senior League Awards. He will now go forward with the hope of claiming the national prize on Sunday night.

Brian excelled with the Tralee Dynamos team that played in the League of Ireland A Championsh­ip and also starred for Kerry in the Oscar Traynor Cup. All his pals and admirers around the county wish him the best of luck at the Awards Ceremony on Sunday night.
