SCHOOL NEWS

Kilmoyley Green School Committee organised an International Day at the school recently. The pupils in Fifth and Sixth classes dressed in traditional dress for their country of choice. The day included a special exhibition where the children hosted stalls with displays, food and posters. Countries represented included: Australia, Brazil, China, France, Greece, India, Italy, Jamaica and Mexico. The Green School Committee were delighted to welcome Angela Wall-An Taisce to the exhibition. The culmination of the day was a showcase at which the students gave presentations about their chosen country to the rest of the school. Many thanks to Ciara, Caoimhe and Darragh for organising the day.

One Good Idea - As part of the One Good Idea project in which pupils from Kilmoyley National School are involved artist, Tommy Moloney came to the school last week on the invitation of the children to give a demonstration on how to “Upcycle”. Tommy got a great response from the children as he showed them how to reuse an empty cereal box and transform it into a desk tidy! Upcycling reduces waste and helps saves energy.
