Publisher announces a new chairman
VETERAN media executive Murdoch MacLennan has been appointed non-executive Chairman of Independent News and Media (INM).
The company - which publishes Ireland’s leading newspapers, including the Irish Independent and the ‘Sunday Independent’ and The Kerryman - announced the appointment last week ahead of the publication of the groups annual results.
The Scot is deputy chairman of Britain’s Telegraph Media Group, having been its chief executive officer for 13 years.
He replaces Leslie Buckley, who stood down this month after a five-year stint as chairman. He also chairs the Press Association Group and the Scottish Professional Football League.
