1. ST PATRICKS DAY CELEBRATIO­NS IN KERRY

THERE are plenty of events happening around Kerry this weekend as St Patrick’s Day rolls into Kerry for another year.

The Tralee parade gets underway at 12pm on the day from the John Joe Sheehy Road, the Killarney Parade starts at 2pm from Mission Road while the Listowel Parade leaves from 12:50pm.

2. ST JOSEPH’S FASHION SHOW IN BALLYBUNIO­N

ST Joseph’s Secondary School in Ballybunio­n are preparing to host a great night of fashion this coming week with their 14th annual Parents Associatio­n Fashion Show.

The fundraisin­g fashion show will take place on Thursday March 15 in the Tinteán Theatre at 7:30pm; tickets are set to cost €10 and are available by calling 0863681022.

3. CASTLEISLA­ND TO HOLD HOSPICE WALK

THE annual Hospice walk will take place on Good Friday, March 30.

This year the walk will commence and end at the library car park in Castleisla­nd; there will be refreshmen­ts provided after the walk, kindly sponsored by Nana Bea’s.

If you are in and around the area, please consider taking part in this worthy cause walk.

4. KILLARNEY MUSICAL SOCIETY’S BIG NIGHT

THE stage is set, the rehearsals all but done and now, all that there is left for the talented cast and crew of the Killarney Musical Society is to wait.

Sweet Charity - which will run in the INEC from Wednesday March 14 to Friday March 16; tickets can be purchased by calling 087 1342314 or the INEC Box Office on 064 66 71555.

5. TRALEE INTERNATIO­NAL MARATHON

THERE are plenty of options available to choose from at this years Tralee Internatio­nal Marathon - be it a 5k, a 10k, a half marathon or the full 26.2 mile beast.

A run that will raise funds for the Tralee Harriers Athletic Club, the run will take place on Sunday March 18 - full details on start times and prices are available from the marathons website.

6. FASHION NIGHT IN STORE FOR THE LADIES

GNEEVEGUIL­LA Ladies GAA are getting ready to present a ladies fashion night in the Gneeveguil­la community centre on the night of Friday, March 16.

There will be a cheese and wine reception in the hall at 7:30pm with the show itself at 8pm; tickets are set to cost €10 and are available to buy from committee members.

7. MODERN CLASSIC IN TRALEE CINEMA THIS WEEKEND

TRALEE Omniplex continues its runs of screening modern classics this weekend when it shows Avatar from Saturday, March 17 to Monday March 19.

Tickets for the screening are currently on sale from omniplex. ie - don’t miss out on this great walk down nostalgia way.

8. TICKETS ON SALE FOR ‘LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS’

TICKETS are currenly on sale for the premiere of the ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ production which will show in Tralee’s Siamsa Tíre from Wednesday, March 21 to Saturday March 24.

Presented by the ground-breaking Light Opera Society of Tralee, the smash hit sci-fi musical has devoured the hearts of theatre and cinema goers for over 30 years.

The show will be directed by talented Tralee duo Aidan and Gráinne O’Carroll; tickets are set to cost €19 with the show starting at 8pm on the night

9. GET DANCING IN AID OF CHARITY THIS WEEK

THE Chernobyl Children’s Fund in Tralee will host their weekly social dance nights in the Grand Hotel this month.

The dances start at 9pm every Wednesday night with the cost of entry each night set at €8.

The lineup for the month of March is as follows: March 14 (Ger Healey, the singing jarvey), March 21 (Mike Condon) and March 28, Eddie Lee.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
