Geraldine’s Very Vintage bridal business on a high after award
LOOKING for that authentic vintage-glam feel for your big day?
Look no further. Listowel businesswoman Geraldine Kelly has every angle covered in a start-up firm born out of her passion for all things old-world and elegant looking.
It’s a business that was recognised as one of a number of bridal-related enterprises in Listowel in the recent Brides of Kerry Awards.
For, despite being relatively new to the industry, Geraldine’s Very Vintage Occasions was awarded a position in the wedding-styling category.
“Growing up at home there was a dresser with beautiful china which was used only on special occasions and this inspired my love of all things vintage,” Geraldine told The Kerryman.
“So I began collecting my own china and vintage artifacts. I spent many hours of my spare time trawling second hand shops and flea markets,” Geraldine explained.
“Last year I decided my collection was just too beautiful to be hidden away, that it needed to be enjoyed and appreciated so I came up with the idea for Very Vintage Occasions.”
She hasn’t looked back as she added high nellies, churns, gramaphones cameras and other unusual items – some dating back a couple of hundred years – to the collection. “I provide styling and props for weddings, church and venue, for couples looking to add a bit of old world glamour to their day. I also provide afternoon tea partys for birthdays christenings, hen partys, baby showers, corporate events and other occasions.”
