Minister to attend Listowell TidTidy TTowns launchl h
where Bernie regularly played with his accordion when in the full of his health.
His Christian faith also played a very important part in his life.
Bernie’s death comes just a couple of months after his wife Hanna Mai passed away - on January 8. He is survived by sisters Joan and Kathleen; and brothers Liam, Danny, Michael and Francis. MINISTER Brendan Griffin is to attend the launch of the Listowel Tidy Town’s threeyear plan this coming Monday, March 26, in a big night for the local organisation as it strives for ever greater improvement for the Fealeside jewel.
It’s a task getting harder every year due in no small way to Listowel’s extraordinary success in the competition to date.
A successive gold medal winner in the national competition for the past ten years, Listowel has made enormous strides in everything from its appearance to the increase in biodiversity and other environmental goals.
Now just one point off the national winner, Listowel is, as always, battling hard to pull off the title of Ireland’s Tidiest Town.
With the margins now so tight between it and the overall winners, it’s crucial all get behind the 2018 campaign.
“We’re delighted that Minister Brendan Griffin will be launching our three year plan and ask everyone to come along to St John’s to g et behind Listowle in what is the 25th year of the Tidy Towns branch,” Chairperson Julie Gleeson said.
