-

FUTSAL:

Last weekend saw the U13 Futsal competitions take place. First up was the U13 girls who played in Nagle Rice Community Centre, Milltown. the girls were in a group of three with top of the group going through to the final and second in group going through to the finals.

The girls played Ardfert/Kilmoyley and won 5-1, next up were Kenmare, this game was the same as a semi final with the winners going through to the final. This was a hard game with the girls going down 3-1 at half time and in the second half the girls put up a great battle coming back 3-3, Kenmare came back to score another with the Duagh/Lyre girls losing out 4-3 and just a little unlucky to secure victory. Duagh/ Lyre went through to the 3rd & 4th place playoff v Keel/Kiltallagh winning 5-1 to secure bronze. Well done girls. Team: Lily Daly, Roisin Maher, Grace Morris, Tara Galvin, Amie Sheehy, Nuala Moloney, Aoibhínn Harte and Angharad Cudlipp. Coach: John Morris and Jason Harte. Thanks to the parents for travelling and supporting the team.

U13 BOYS FUTSAL:

U13 boys Futsal competition was played on bank Monday in Nagle Rice Center Miltown. Here they played Castleisland who held a 4 goal lead at half time but the boys didn’t drop their heads and in the second half scored some fantastic goals to draw 4 all. With other teams withdrawing it meant another game with Castleisland and in another close exciting game Duagh/Lyre were very unlucky to lose out by 3 goals to 2 hitting the post 2 times in the second half. In the playoff game in another exciting encounter they lost out to Glenflesk by 4 -2 and picked up the certificates for their efforts. Thanks again the parents for their support.
