Well done to our u13 girls Futsal who were in action in Miltown on Sunday morning. They were drawn in a very tough group facing Kenmare in their first group game and Duagh in their second group game. The end result in both games didn’t do justice to the performance of the girls as they played really well. Thanks to all the parents who travelled and helped out, and to the girls for their commitment.

GAA NEWS

Congratulations: The club extends its best wishes to club hurler and hurley maker John Redmond and to Caroline Brick on their recent marriage.

Juvenile Hurling: The U16s got their season off to a start on Sunday evening in the Lee Strand County Hurling league. In poor conditions, they took on Tralee Parnells in Caherslee. With the teams evenly matched throughout the game, the result could easily have gone either way but the game ended in a draw. Tralee Parnell 2-3 Kilmoyley 1-6.

U12s: A great opportunity is in store for the U12s who have been invited to play in Coke Park on April 6th. A real treat for the players and further details will follow. Registration is ongoing and with the U16 league underway and the U14 and U12s due to commence shortly, now is the time to register as all players must be registered to play.

SeniorsResult - Kilmoyley 1-14, Lixnaw 0-15Well done to our senior hurlers and to our new management team of Shane Brick, Padraig Regan and Maurice Murnane who got the 2018 campaign off to a winning start with a hard fought win over Lixnaw in the county league at John Michells last Thursday evening under lights. Thankfully, the weather conditions were ideal, but the beach-like sandy pitch did not allow for a free flowing game.Kilmoyley led from start to finish and were 5 points to 2 up after ten minutes thanks to points from Jordan Brick (3), Sean Maunsell and Maurice O’Connor. Lixnaw closed the gap to a single point again but Maurice latched onto a loose ball in front of the Lixnaw goal to bury it, and put Kilmoyley four points up. By half time Daniel Collins had added a further two points to give Kilmoyley a 1-8 to 0-5 half time lead.Lixnaw were quickly into their stride on the re-start with three quick points, but 2 more Collins’ points gave us breathing space once more. The accuracy of Shane Conway from placed balls brought Lixnaw right back into the game but a fourth from Jordan Brick and a beauty from James Godley helped our cause. Collins with two further frees kept Lixnaw at a distance, who did finish with further pointed frees, but Kilmoyley held on for the win. Paudie O’Connor was replaced just after halftime and hopefully the injury sustained is not serious. Well done to young Dylan McCabe who made his senior debut.Kilmoyley team: John B.O’Halloran, Seanie Murnane, Colman Savage, Sean Nolan, Donal Kennedy, Tom Murnane, Robert Collins, James Godley, Paudie O’Connor, Jordan Brick, Daniel Collins, Sean Maunsell, Dylan McCabe, Maurice O’Connor, Joe McElligott. subs used Eoin McCarthy, James Murphy. Fixtures - Kilmoyley are due to face Crotta O’Neills in round 2 of the County league on Saturday at 4pm
