We had mixed fortunes on the playing fields over the weekend. Our under-12 team were defeated by a very strong Ballymacelligott outfit in a North Kerry league game. However, our under-14s played some scintillating football in Spa on Sunday evening to defeat a Spa/Cromane combination. Playing with the wind we got off to a dream start with county players Melanie Higgins, Aisling Ní Ainiféin and Katelyn Leen in sparkling form. They were ably assisted by Amy McCarthy, Saoirse O’Carroll, Niamh Quinn, Niamh Gentleman and Anna Kerdiza. The team led 2-12 to two points at the break and finished with a comfortable victory of 3-17 to 2-5. Well done to all involved. Clodagh Brady, Hannah McKenna, Emma Woods, Amy McCarthy, Maria Savage, Saoirse O’Carroll, Niamh Dineen, Niamh Quinn, Katelyn Leen, Amy O’Connell, Aisling Ní Ainiféin, Niamh Gentleman.
